What it actually is
NOMAD is not a chatbot. It is a management application, which the project calls the Command Center, plus an API that installs and runs a set of containerised tools for you through Docker. You install one thing; it handles the rest.
You reach all of it through a browser at localhost:8080. There is no desktop environment required, so a NOMAD box can sit headless in a cupboard and you use it from a laptop or a phone on the same network.
The point of the design is that everything it knows is already on the disk. An internet connection is needed while you install and while you choose to download more content. After that it runs with nothing plugged in.
