Get Claude to Estimate Your IQ From Your Own Chats: Set Up the Free /iq Skill

Ask Claude what your IQ is and it dodges the question and says IQ does not matter. This free Claude Code skill answers it from your own past chats instead: two readers each score how fast you spot patterns and how many steps ahead you plan, a small calculator turns that into one IQ number and where it sits among everyone else, and the report quotes the exact chats that raised your score and the ones that dragged it down. A fun estimate, not a test. The whole skill to paste in, ready-made prompts, and what an answer looks like

Ask Claude what your IQ is and you get a polite dodge: IQ does not really matter, everyone is smart in their own way. A normal question gets a normal answer, and a flattering one tells you nothing.

This skill gives you a number instead, and shows its working: what you actually wrote to an AI over weeks of chats.

How it works

  1. You type /iq. It tells you what it is about to read, and asks once: only what YOU wrote (never Claude's replies), up to 320 of your messages, with passwords, tokens, emails and phone numbers masked, saved only in a .iq folder where you run it.
  2. A small script collects your messages from your past Claude Code chats into one evidence file. (Or from a ChatGPT export or a folder of your own writing, if you point it at one.)
  3. Two Claudes read it at the same time and alone. One reads for pattern speed: how fast you notice the same problem coming back in a new costume, and whether you fix the whole class of it. The other reads for planning depth: how many steps ahead you plan, what you check before you build, and whether you think about what happens after it works.
  4. Each scores you out of 100 and says where the score came from. 50 is the average adult, so most people land near the middle, and the readers are told never to round up to be kind. Every claim has to quote your own words, with the message number.
  5. A small calculator turns the two scores into ONE IQ estimate with a range, and says where it sits among everyone else. The less sure the readers were, the closer it stays to 100.

The report is saved as .iq/<date>/REPORT.md. It never touches your other files.
