The company behind Claude just published early results from six drug developers. The most useful one for everyone else is about paperwork: Claude checked 1,061 pages and caught seven problems the human reviewers missed.

Here's what the study found, how one person ran 11 labs with Claude, and a prompt to check your own documents.

What the study found

  • Paperwork: a drug maker connected its manufacturing documents to Claude. Across 1,061 pages, Claude caught all 11 issues the human reviewers found and flagged seven more they had missed.
  • Time: human review fell 89%, from over 25 hours to under three. Its chemists had spent up to 75% of their time on paperwork.
  • Writing: Claude drafted a regulatory document in four hours that takes about three months by hand.
  • Design: another team had Claude produce about 35,000 antibody designs in roughly a month; three beat the standard medicine at one key test.
  • Planning: a large drug company uses Claude to judge early trial plans and estimate how likely a trial is to succeed.

One person, 11 labs

The founder of a one-person company used Claude to handle contracts, shipping and experiments with 11 outside labs. A possible treatment for one form of muscular dystrophy went from idea to promising results in mice in under 18 months. Anthropic, the creators of Claude, bought the company and expects human trials could start as soon as late 2028 if the results hold.
