What the credit is
On September 23 Anthropic took Claude Code cloud sessions out of research preview, which means they are now a finished feature instead of a test. A cloud session runs Claude Code on a computer Anthropic manages instead of on yours. You give it a GitHub repository (the online folder that holds your project's code) and a task, and it does the work there. Because it isn't running on your laptop, it keeps going when you close the lid.
To get people trying it, Anthropic is giving existing subscribers a one-time credit. The amount depends on your plan:

The best part: the credit sits on top of your plan and outside your usage limits. If you hit your limit on your own computer, you can keep working in a cloud session until the credit runs out.

- It only pays for cloud sessions, not normal chats or Claude Code running on your own computer
- Claim it by 11:59 PM Pacific time on October 7
- Whatever you haven't spent expires at 11:59 PM Pacific time on November 4
