Build with Public APIs and Claude Code: The PUB Guide
The repo from the reel, a verified weather request, and copyable Claude Code prompts for turning API docs into useful app features.
The fastest way to make a prototype useful is often to connect it to real data. The Public APIs directory gives you a place to find that data, and Claude Code can help you turn the provider’s documentation into a working feature. This guide includes the repo from the PUB reel, a small weather example, and prompts you can reuse with other APIs.

Open the Public APIs directory on GitHub
Browse the category index, then open an entry’s provider documentation. The directory covers areas such as weather, food, news and cryptocurrency. Its tables list a description, authentication, HTTPS and CORS. You do not need to clone or install the whole repository to use an API in the list.
Treat an entry as a starting point. The provider’s current documentation and pricing determine what you can build. A free tier may require an account or key, cap your requests, or exclude commercial use. The directory does not grant permission to use every listed service without restrictions.
