ReelMimic: Show Claude a Video You Love, Get a New One in the Same Style
A free, open-source app that runs on your own computer with your own Claude Code. It takes a reference video apart (shots, pacing, transitions, colours, camera moves), plans a new video with you, then up to six Claude agents build it while a different agent checks every shot
Ever watched a video and wanted one in that style, but completely your own? Drop it into ReelMimic: a file, a phone recording or a YouTube link. It breaks the reference down (shot count, shot lengths, BPM, transitions, colours, framing and camera moves) and shows you a plan first: a storyboard, characters, assets and a few style frames. You chat about it until you like it, then approve. It learns how the reference was made; it never reuses the original footage, characters, logos or assets.
How the build works (from the README)
- Up to 6 AI agents work on different parts of the video at the same time.
- Each finished shot goes to a new agent for review, so nobody grades their own work.
- Every fix comes with before and after screenshots, and the reviewer checks them.
- You can see what each agent is thinking, what it ran and which frames it looked at.
- When it's done, scrub to any second and leave a note; send them all at once and it goes back to be fixed.
