Run LTX 2.5, the Open-Weights AI Video Model, on Your Own Computer
LTX 2.5 makes video and audio together and you can download it. What it is, the license, the hardware it needs, the install commands from the model card, the no-install option, and a prompt for Claude
LTX 2.5 from Lightricks is described on its model card as an open world model with open weights, built for local execution and fine-tuning. It makes synchronized video and audio from text, image or video, and can make multiple shots that hold character, environment, lighting and style across cuts.
Here's the license, the hardware it needs, the install steps, and a prompt for Claude to walk you through it.
The catches first
- Open weights is not the same as open source. It uses the LTX-2.x Community License.
- Commercial use is free only under $10M a year in annual revenue (whole company, including affiliates). Above that you need a paid Commercial Use Agreement.
- It needs Python 3.12 or newer, CUDA 12.7 or newer and PyTorch about 2.7. CUDA means an Nvidia GPU; a Mac can't run it this way.
- The card gives no VRAM number. It lists low-memory flags: --quantization fp8-cast and --offload cpu.
- I did not run it. This guide repeats the model card; check your own card before you rely on it.
