Stop Claude Searching Your Whole Project: The 129K-Star Map Skill
A free Claude skill, past 129,000 stars, that maps your code, docs and PDFs into one graph. Claude asks the map and goes straight to the right file, and you get a report of the hidden links in your project
Every time you ask Claude about your project, it goes searching: it greps, opens file after file and reads them to find the one place that matters, and every file it opens costs tokens. Someone open-sourced a skill that maps the whole project once, and it's past 129,000 stars.
Here's what it does, how to set it up in a few minutes, the first questions worth asking the map, and the catches.
What it does
- It turns your project into one knowledge graph: code in about 40 languages (parsed on your machine, no model), plus docs, SQL schemas, configs and PDFs.
- Claude queries the graph instead of re-reading your files, so it lands on the right file instead of opening dozens. On Claude Code a hook nudges Claude to ask the graph before it searches.
- It writes GRAPH_REPORT.md: the key concepts, the surprising connections between far-apart parts of your project, and questions worth asking.
- You also get graph.html, an interactive map of your project you can open in a browser, and graph.json, the full graph.
Set it up
- Install it: uv tool install graphifyy (or: pipx install graphifyy). The package name has a double y; other graphify packages are not this project.
- Run: graphify install (it finds Claude Code and registers the skill).
- Open Claude Code in your project folder and type: /graphify .
- Open graph.html to see the map, and read GRAPH_REPORT.md for the hidden links.
Use the graph to find where [the thing that's broken, e.g. checkout] happens and open only those files. From GRAPH_REPORT.md, explain the three most surprising connections in this project in plain words. Before you change [file], use the graph to list everything that depends on it.
