The Claude Skill That Prints Your Own Morning Newspaper
A free Claude skill that reads the newsletters, YouTube channels and GitHub repos you follow, cuts the noise, lays the top stories out as a one-page front page with photos and sends it to your printer at 6 AM
Instead of scrolling ten apps every morning, you get one printed page: the six to eight stories that matter from the sources you picked, laid out like a real front page, waiting next to your coffee.
It is one Claude skill (a folder with a text file Claude reads), a list of your sources, and one line that runs it at 6 AM. Setup takes about ten minutes.
What it does every morning
- Reads every source on your list from the last 36 hours: newsletters and blogs (RSS), YouTube channels, and GitHub repo releases.
- Cuts the noise: merges the same story from two sources, drops ads, sponsor posts, roundups and tiny updates, and ranks the rest.
- Writes a one-page front page: a masthead with the date, a lead story with its photo, a 3-column grid of the rest, and an "Also worth a click" strip.
- Saves it as a PDF in a daily-paper folder in your home folder and prints it on your default printer.
What you need
- Claude Code, signed in with your Claude plan (it runs on your own Claude, no extra service or API key).
- A Mac or Linux computer that is on at 6 AM, with a printer set up (if you can print a page from it, you are ready).
- Google Chrome is optional: on a Mac without it, the skill uses the Mac's own Safari engine through a small file you save in step 3 (that needs Apple's free command line tools: run xcode-select --install once if the swift command is missing).
