Translate Your Whole Book With Claude Overnight, as an Ebook, Word File and PDF
translate-book is a free, open-source Claude skill that splits your book into pieces, has eight Claudes translate them at once, and rebuilds the finished book. How to install it, run your first book, and check the result
translate-book is a free, open-source skill for Claude Code, past 2,000 GitHub stars. You give it a book as a PDF, Word file or EPUB, and it cuts the book into pieces, has eight Claudes translate them at the same time, checks that every piece came back, and stitches it into a finished book in the new language.
Here's how it works, how to set it up, and the limits you should know first.
How it works
- Convert: your book becomes text and is split into pieces of about 6,000 characters each.
- Translate: eight Claudes work at once, each on one piece with a fresh memory, so nothing gets cut off halfway through a long book.
- Keep names straight: each Claude reads a short bit of the pages around its own piece, so names and pronouns stay the same.
- Check: every piece is matched 1 to 1 with its translation before anything is merged.
- Build: you get output.md, book.html (with a table of contents), book.docx, book.epub and book.pdf.
- Resume: if a run stops, it picks up from the last finished piece.
