Big investors have to publish what they own. trader-skill is a free, open-source pack of 11 Claude skills that reads those public filings and turns them into a plan for your own budget, with you approving every single order.

Here's what each part does, how to set it up in a few minutes, and how to copy one portfolio on paper first.

What the team does

  • Copycat: reads an investor's 13F filing on SEC EDGAR and rebuilds the portfolio as weights you can copy, plus what they bought, added, trimmed and sold since last quarter.
  • Budget: sizes every position to your money, keeps a cash buffer and caps any one stock. With $5,000, a 10% buffer and a 25% cap, Berkshire's top 5 becomes Apple $1,250, American Express $1,119, Alphabet $823, Coca-Cola $708, Bank of America $600 and $500 cash.
  • Pelosi tracker: reads the stock trades members of Congress disclose (the House Clerk's periodic transaction reports) as soon as they post, and alerts you once per new filing.
  • News: watches headlines and SEC 8-K filings for every stock you hold.
  • Risk and Broker: the risk check blocks any order over your limits; the broker only builds the ticket and records your yes. Nothing places an order on its own, and paper trading is the default.
