You give Claude Code a job, switch to something else, and every few minutes flip back to the terminal to check. Is it done? Is it stuck? Half the time it's been sitting on a permission question, waiting for you, the whole time you were gone.

Coucou fixes that. It's a free, open-source Mac app that puts a little pet called Mochi in your MacBook's notch. Mochi shows what Claude is doing, live, at the top of your screen, lets you answer Claude without opening the terminal, and does a happy little jump when the job's done. It passed 3,000 stars on GitHub in its first week.

What it does

  • Live activity in the notch: every file Claude reads, edits and runs, step by step. Edits show the file name and how many lines were added and removed, and a tap opens the full diff.
  • Every agent in one place: Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, Antigravity and more, each in a pill of its own.
  • Answer from the notch: Claude Code's permission requests show up with Allow, Deny and Always, and when Claude asks you a question, the choices appear right there. One click and it carries on.
  • It tells you when it's done: Mochi jumps when a task finishes, so you can stay in your email or your feed until then.
  • Jump to the right terminal: one click opens the exact terminal window of that session.
  • Out of the way when idle: it hides when nothing is running and peeks out when you hover over the notch.

No notch? On an iMac, a Mac mini, or a MacBook with its lid closed on an external display, Mochi sits in a small bar at the top of the screen instead.
