Harvey is a free, open-source sales agent (MIT licence) by ethanplusai. You tell it what you sell and who your ideal customer is. It finds businesses that fit, reads each one's website, learns something specific about them, writes a cold email that mentions it, reads the replies and works the conversation toward a meeting. It runs on your own machine, in a loop, using the Claude plan you already pay for.

Set it up

  1. You need Python 3.11 or newer (macOS ships 3.9, so run: brew install python@3.13), an active Claude Pro or Max plan with the Claude Code CLI logged in (claude login), and a mailbox to send from. Gmail or Google Workspace on a separate sending domain is what the README recommends.
  2. Go into the folder and start Claude Code: cd harvey, then claude
  3. Say: set up Harvey for me. The repo's CLAUDE.md turns Claude Code into a setup wizard: it checks what is installed, asks for what it needs and trains Harvey on your product.
  4. When it is set up, start the dashboard with: harvey dashboard (it opens at http://localhost:5555) and the agent with: harvey run
OR PASTE THIS INTO CLAUDE CODE
Clone https://github.com/ethanplusai/harvey.git, read its README and CLAUDE.md, and set Harvey up for me. Check my Python version first. Ask me before you create accounts, change any DNS records or send anything.
