Blender MCP is a free, MIT-licensed community plugin (31.5k stars on GitHub, not made by the Blender team) that connects Claude to Blender. You describe a scene in plain words and Claude builds it inside Blender while you watch.

Here's what Claude can do with it, how to set it up, the catch, and a first prompt to try.

What it lets Claude do

  • Create, change and delete 3D objects, and set their materials and colours.
  • Check its own work: it can look at the scene from several angles (cameras, wireframe, renders) and fix what looks wrong.
  • Run Python inside Blender for anything the buttons don't cover.
  • Pull in assets from Poly Haven, Sketchfab and Poly Pizza, or generate models with Tripo, Hyper3D Rodin or Hunyuan3D.
