Let One Claude Manage a Team of Claudes With Projects

Projects in Claude Code is one ongoing conversation where Claude acts as the manager. You tell it what needs doing, and it starts a separate Claude, called a thread, for each task. Each thread does one piece of work and reports back.

Here's what it does, who has it, how to set one up, the catch, and a first message you can paste in.

What the manager does for you

  • Splits your goal into tasks and starts a thread for each one, running at the same time.
  • Keeps track of every thread and checks what each one reports back, then puts the result together.
  • Cloud threads keep going after you close your laptop. Come back later and the Overview pane shows what finished and which thread is waiting for your answer.
  • You can check on the threads and steer them from the Claude phone app.
  • It isn't only for code: upload a folder of contracts or a support-ticket export instead of a code repository and ask questions like "find the ten most common mistakes in these tickets". Each write-up comes back as a file.
