claude-token-efficient is a free, MIT-licensed CLAUDE.md file. In the author's example, the same code review took 120 words without it and 30 words with it, with the same bug found and the same fix.

Here's how to add it, what it really saves, and when to leave it out.

What it does

  • Stops the filler: no "Great question!" opener, no repeating your question back, no "I hope this helps" ending.
  • Keeps answers to the bug and the fix, and stops Claude adding extras you didn't ask for.
  • It is one text file. There is nothing to install and no code to run.
