On October 9, Anthropic let every Pro and Max user on the Claude Code Projects waitlist in. A project is one ongoing conversation where Claude runs a stream of work for you: you give it a goal, and it splits the work into threads that all run at the same time.

Each thread is its own Claude working in the cloud on its own branch of your code, and it can open a pull request when it's done. They all share one memory, so the decisions you make stay put. Here's how to get in, set it up, and keep it from burning through your usage.

Who can use it right now

  • Pro and Max plans only. It isn't on Team or Enterprise yet.
  • It's a public beta that's still rolling out. If you see Projects in the left sidebar at claude.ai/code or in the Code tab of the desktop app, you're in.
  • If you don't see it, join the waitlist: Anthropic says it's letting in more Pro and Max users as capacity allows.
  • It runs at claude.ai/code, in the desktop app's Code tab and in the Claude mobile app, not in the terminal, VS Code or JetBrains.
