Canvas Design is one of the official skills from Anthropic, the creators of Claude. You tell Claude what a poster is for, and it designs it: it writes its own art style first, then builds the page from it as a PNG or PDF.

Here's how to turn it on, how to ask for a poster, and what it won't do.

What it does

  • Writes a design philosophy first: a named art movement (like "Brutalist Joy") with its colours, shapes and type.
  • Builds one design-forward page from that style, with fonts from its own font folder.
  • Keeps everything inside the margins, so nothing overlaps or falls off the page.
  • Ends with a polish pass that refines what's there instead of adding clutter.
  • Gives you a .png or .pdf, and a multi-page PDF when you ask for one.
