Give Claude a Jester That Tells You the Brutal Truth: Set Up /jester in 2 Minutes
Claude agrees with almost everything you say, like a king's yes-man. This free Claude Code skill adds the one person a king actually needed: a jester who shows you the yes-men's cheers, then tells you the three biggest problems with your idea and the cheapest way to test them. How to set it up, ready-made prompts, and what an answer looks like
Ask Claude whether your idea is good and it usually says yes. A king with only yes-men never hears what is wrong with his plan, so old courts kept one jester whose whole job was to say it out loud.
This skill gives Claude that job. You type your idea, and you get the yes-men and the jester side by side.
What /jester does
- Three yes-men cheer your idea, the way a normal Claude would. This is the sugar the rest of the answer refuses to add.
- The jester names the three biggest problems with it, most serious first. Each one points at something you actually wrote: your numbers, your audience, your plan. If you gave no numbers, it tells you which number is missing.
- One sentence of verdict: build it as it is, change it first, or drop it.
- The cheapest test you can run this week, with what result means keep going and what result means stop.
The whole answer is short (under 300 words) and it never edits your files or runs anything.
