When a client lowballs you, the natural move is to explain why you're worth it, or to drop your price. Both cost you money. This prompt writes the calm reply instead: if they want to pay less, they get less.

Here's how it works, the prompt itself, and what a real run looked like.

How it works

  1. Paste the prompt into Claude. Fill in your price and what it includes, and paste the client's message.
  2. WHAT THEY REALLY SAID: Claude reads their message in one line (budget, testing you, or comparing you to someone cheaper).
  3. WHAT NOT TO DO: the reply you're tempted to send that would cost you money.
  4. MY REPLY: your answer in under 80 words. It never defends or discounts your price; it offers a smaller version of the job for their budget and ends with an easy yes-question.
  5. IF THEY PUSH AGAIN: one short line.
  6. WALK-AWAY LINE: the lowest deal to take, and a polite line that ends it.
