The Prompt That Turns Claude Into a Critic Who Rips Apart Your Plan

Paste your plan and Claude stops being polite: it quotes your weakest line, checks every number, argues against you, gives a verdict, and only then tells you the 3 changes that fix it

Ask Claude what it thinks of your plan and you usually get a helpful, balanced answer. This prompt gets you the hard version first: the one hole most likely to sink the plan, the math, and the case against it.

Here's how it works, the prompt itself, and what a real run looked like.

How it works

  1. Paste the prompt into Claude, then paste your plan, idea, draft or decision where it says MY PLAN. Give it your real numbers.
  2. THE HOLE: Claude names the single weakest point in your plan and quotes your own words.
  3. THE MATH: it checks every number you gave and says plainly if it does not work.
  4. WHAT YOU ARE NOT SAYING: the questions someone who has done this would ask first.
  5. THE STRONGEST CASE AGAINST: 3 sentences, as if it wanted you to stop.
  6. YOUR VERDICT: go, change it, or stop, plus the one thing that would change its mind. Then the 3 changes that fix the biggest problems, in order.
