The Prompt Where 5 Claude Readers Pick the 2 Articles Worth Your Time
Your reading pile only grows. This copy-paste prompt gives it to 5 Claude readers who skim every article their own way, vote READ or SKIP, and hand you the 2 worth reading with the sentence that decided each
Saved tabs, newsletters, "read later" lists: the pile grows faster than you read. This prompt doesn't summarize it. It decides which 2 are worth your time, so you read those properly.
Here's how it works, the prompt itself, and what a real run looked like.
How it works
- Paste the prompt into Claude, then paste 5 to 20 articles: the full text works everywhere, links work if your Claude can open web pages.
- Five readers skim every article: the Skimmer (the one claim in 10 words), the Fact-Checker (real proof or only opinion), the New-Stuff Hunter (what you wouldn't already know), the Doer (one thing you could use this week) and the Time-Keeper (the minutes it takes).
- Each reader votes READ or SKIP. You get the tally for every article, like 4-1.
- Claude picks exactly 2 to read, quotes the one sentence that decided each, word for word, and gives one line for every skip so you know what you'd miss. Then the count, the minutes saved, and the order to read the 2 in.
The prompt
Copy it into any Claude chat, paste your articles where it says MY PILE and send:
Be my reading panel: 5 readers skim my pile of articles so I only read the 2 worth my time. MY PILE: [paste 5 to 20 articles: the full text, or links if you can open them] THE 5 READERS (each skims every article their own way, one line each): 1. The Skimmer: what is the one claim? Say it in 10 words or fewer. 2. The Fact-Checker: is there real proof (data, code, a study), or only opinion? 3. The New-Stuff Hunter: what is new here that I would not already know? 4. The Doer: is there one thing I could use this week? Name it. 5. The Time-Keeper: is it worth the minutes it takes to read? Give the minutes. THE VOTE - Each reader votes READ or SKIP on every article. Show the tally (like 4-1). - Pick exactly 2 to READ: the two with the most READ votes (break ties with the Doer). - For each of the 2: the one sentence from the article that decided it, quoted word for word. - For every SKIP: one line on what I would miss, so I can skim that line instead. THEN 1. The count: how many articles, how many skipped, minutes saved. 2. The order to read the 2 in, and why. Use only what the articles say. Do not summarize the 2 picks: I will read them myself.
- Paste the full text when you can. In our test, Claude flagged which articles were cut off and voted only on what it saw.
- Want a different panel? Swap a reader: a Skeptic, a Beginner, or someone from your own job.
- It never summarizes the 2 picks on purpose. The point is that you read them.
